About

Healing and wellness have always been a big part of my life even before I received my Master's in Social Work at Illinois State University and a health coach at Institute for Integrative Nutrition, (IIN).

Bio

I received my master’s degree in Social Work at Illinois State University in 2014 specializing in family and children. I have worked the last 15 years as a social worker working with a diverse group of people in different avenues of social work. I passed my state exam to become a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in 2022 and decided to primarily focus on individual therapy.

My most recent job was in Hospice and Home Health where I provided talk therapy to grieving patients and their families through end of life and connected patients to community resources in Central Washington. I have recently worked as a medical social worker utilizing motivational interviewing with patients that struggle with mental health issues, homelessness, and older adult concerns among other patient problems. I also worked at a Geriatric Case Manager Assistant aiding older adults to connect to community resources and respectfully communicate with their families about their needs and wants as an older adult.

My Approach

I practice a holistic approach to healing and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected.

  • Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat?

  • Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from feeling your best?

As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affects your health as a whole.

I work with my clients to get in touch with their mind/body/spirit needs because I understand that life happens, and we all need empathetic support. I want to equip you with the self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. I believe each person is fully capable of making well-informed decisions as their own expert. Let’s define what you value most from your well-being.  We’ll use these visions to motivate specific goals that bring you closer to where you want to be. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and work with a wide range of people to become more mindful of how their triggers, thoughts, and emotions affect their behaviors. Together we will find tools and strategies to lessen your stress to become a happy and healthy human being!
